Scammell reiterated that it is very important to educate patients about nonpharmacological factors that can prove beneficial and that can lead to a healthier life in general.Īs a general rule, Moawad said she often turns to traditional agents that she finds to be effective treatment options, including modafinil and armodafinil, amphetamines, and sodium oxybate. She tells patients to get up and move around when they feel sleepy, too. Benca agreed, noting that for some patients, avoiding carbohydrates but having other kinds of healthy snacks can be useful. Light therapy and even cognitive behavioral therapy can be helpful for these patients, she added. She often reviews a sleep and diet diary, suggesting to patients that smaller meals can be helpful. Both scales, however, are subjective in nature, so the panelists agreed it is important to probe further.Īs part of her intake, Zee looks at lifestyle and behavioral issues that may impact sleep, like diet, exercise, and substance use. Similarly, the Swiss Narcolepsy Scale aims to identify certain behavioral symptoms associated with narcolepsy with cataplexy. The self-administered Epworth Sleepiness Scale includes 8 questions in which patients are asked to rate how often they doze or fall asleep while engaging in certain activities. The panelists discussed tools to help assess and properly diagnose sleep issues. You can sometimes see shorter REM latency in patients with mood disorders.” “The other issue is that, like narcolepsy, mood disorders are sometimes characterized by early entrance into REM sleep. Some of them are actually excessively sleepy and some of them are just really fatigued and do not show objective evidence of excessive sleepiness, but they will report that they are sleepy,” said Benca, professor and chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. “A significant subset of patients with depression will complain of excessive daytime sleepiness. She added that depression is often comorbid with narcolepsy and symptoms can blur, making a diagnosis challenging. Narcolepsy is either misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed about 60% of the time, with initial diagnosis lagging anywhere from 3 to 8 years, said Zee, director of the Center for Circadian and Sleep Medicine and chief of the Division of Sleep Medicine, Department of Neurology, at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. 5/31/2023 0 Comments Volvo crossover 2016 priceIt might be hard to believe that the source of this Teutonic terror could be a Swedish seven-seater, but the new XC90 is anything but typical. If that’s the case BMW, Audi, Mercedes, and even Land Rover should be worried, because the Swedes - in their own quiet way - have just put them on notice. Volvo has clearly stated that the new XC90 represents the future of the company. The 2016 Volvo XC90 isn’t just another luxury crossover with Audi performance, Range Rover luxury, and an Acura price tag, it is putting the competition on notice. In short, the V40 cross country is pretty much a standing example of Volvo'c great design and engineering! It is a large slice of what Volvo offers up the league and is a benchmark when it comes to Crossover and Hatchback segments. If you need more space, you can opt for a roof box that can be mounted on the roof rails but I don't think one would go to that extent. Some would also complain the boot space offered but again I can live with it. The only con I would probably complain is the back seat space isnt the best but you can live with it if you are not very tall. Those Thor Hammer LEDs are gorgeous and their throw is amazing! The car is an absolute looker from any angle especially from the back. The car is packed with safety features including blind spot warning lights on the A pillars that flash when there is a vehicle approaching or passing by from your blind spot, city safety - which auto breaks on sensing a impending collision under 50 KMPH, lane assistance that works like a charm whenever you drift away from the lane where the vehicle steers you back a bit into the lane. In fact this is one of the most powerful ACs I have seen in cars. The dual zone climate control system works like a charm and cools the cabin in no time. The car still pulls really well even in the Eco mode. In the sports mode you can take control of the revs and use the paddle-shifters that again work really well and puts a grin on your face! There is an Eco + mode that alters the ride to make it fuel efficient. It puts power down power well and gives you ample when you need them. The D3 engine with the auto gear box drives really well. Mind you the car weighs a whole 2 Ton! In contrast my Civic is a mere 1200 KG. You can feel the weight when you drive - it behaves like a large car but it pulls like anything. The car stays with you no matter what speeds you are at. The ride itself is very planted and mature. Again I wanted the passion red but due to the mouth watering discounts I settled with the Pearl White which again has been growing in me. Man those new set of 18" alloys on the Pirellis! Loved them and the design grew on me. While I had my eyes set on the R-design trim with that smoking hot Ixion alloys,I finally settled with the Cross Country trim which gives me a better peace of mind with a slightly raised stance (higher GC) and rough body cladding to handle our rough roads better. So in no time, we were convinced thats going to be our car and we were again pleasantly surprised to learn on a nice discount that we were offered. I was able to notice that upmarket build quality and the car was put together with that impeccable finish. Took the R-Design trim for a spin and loved it instantly! I was able to connect with the car and get used to its dynamics in no time. So off we went to Volvo Chennai and we were pleasantly greeted by the staff and we really felt at home. BMW X1 was considered but the new model's pricing was very high and that car really excels in the Msport trim which is again priced ridiculously. We ruled out the Audi since I wasnt a big fan of the A3 or even the Q3 since the roads are full of them. While it was nice and plush it never connected with me. We even test drove the new Skoda Superb despite knowing its too big a car. I really liked the A180 for its visual appeal but the vehicle severely lacked in the equipment levels and performance. Our need was clearly not a very large car since we are only a family of 4. So my wife and I started to explore the options. I have always had a secret crush on the Volvo line-up and ever since I saw V40 for the first time, it actually did steal my heart (talk about first crush- ha!). Ok so I was in the market for a premium car and was obviously torn part between the various options. 5/31/2023 0 Comments Musicmaster bass amp schematicI’ve used it for bass live with small combos and for recording with great success. I’ve also found that with the speaker swap (I’m using a RI Jensen C12N) it can be a very nice, musical small bass amp after all. This could be in part because it has a tad more headroom because of its solid state rectifier. I have a 1964 Fender Princeton that I LOVE but in all honestly this Musicmaster gets more use. I use this for nearly all of my non-full-bore rock stuff. The whole thing resides in a Champ chassis and it is super easy to “grab it and go”. It also utilizes a transformer for a phase inverter. It puts out 12 or so watts using – depending on version – either 2 6AQ5 or 2 6V6 power tubes with one 12ax7 for the preamp. Stay safe and hope you’re all well Enjoy this new episode of GuitarOfTheDay: Todd playing a 1978 Fender Musicmaster Bass here at NormansRareGuitars For any questions you may have or price. On the other hand, outside of the context of a bass amp this thing is pretty awesome. Out of a smallcollection of silver face Fender amps the Musicmaster Bass may bassamp for sale, fender musicmaster bass amp schematic, fendermusicmaster face. My guess is that this amp was the source of great disappointment and frustration for a lot of fledgling bass players trying to sit in with other fledgling rockers. The stock speaker and power transformer are equipped to do nothing but complain when you plug a bass in and turn it up. Here is what I think I would do next fwiiw. It’s a pretty odd amp but when you consider who it was marketed at – the beginner bass player – it’s even odder. MMB guts factory stuffed inside a Champ chassis. I replaced the speaker, the filter caps and other electrolytics, added a fuse and fuse holder, removed the little blue “death cap”, and rewired the power cord. More often than not, it's a disaster and it gets replacedas this one did. We see this a lot, and I always check the condition and wiring inside. The molded plug end had been replaced by an old 3-prong replacement with screw terminals. It was 100% original including the cheap, leaking filter caps. We had a 70's Musicmaster Bass amp that came in for general cleaning/service (dates to '79, it looks like). This Musicmaster bass amp came to me as part of a trade for some amp repair and restoration I did for a friend. Some of the most famous BMX riders of all time have ridden Redline bikes.įor a time Redline also sold other styles of bike, including cyclocross and road bikes, but today the offering is primarily BMX, in addition to a small but respected range of mountain bikes. By 1978 they had sold 10,000 frames, new distribution contracts were set up, and they started to get involved in the sport.ĭuring the 1980s they won just about everything that they could in BMX racing, firmly carving out a position for the brand in the history of the sport. They continued to develop new parts for BMX bikes over the coming years before selling their first complete bike in 1976. That was in 1974, and it changed BMX bikes forever. Redline won the bet when they developed the tubular chromoly Redline fork. The bet came from a local bike shop, who said Redline would not be able to make a stronger yet lighter fork than those currently fitted to the emerging new style of bike - the BMX. Their start in making components for BMX bikes started as a bet. The company was founded in 1970, and quickly gained a reputation for producing components for motocross, speedway, and other types of racing bike. In addition, they offer a range of mountain bikes. Today they offer a wide range of BMX bikes, and are still involved in the sport. They got involved in the development of the BMX bike in its earliest days, though, and introduced many innovations in the industry. Redline started life manufacturing frames and other components for racing motorcycles. 5/31/2023 0 Comments Drobo zoolzI use CrashPlan from Code42 because it’s perfect for my Drobo 5N, but there are plenty of other off-site backup companies. Purchase an OFF-SITE BACKUP PLAN with online access. I’ve added an affiliate to both versions, but do your research and find one that works for you. The Pro version has a few extra features that are worth it. There are plenty of free utilities that can do this I recommend SyncBack from 2BrightSparks. MIRROR two external hard drives that are updated automatically when a change is made. It can also be used for a dedicated system that is only used for backing up your system but remember the last part of our foolproof 3-2-1 plan? Have a stored copy off-site. This is a perfect format for off-site backup. As you can imagine this will require more storage than your original hard drive and it can only be read or restored with software. BackupĬreate a compressed copy of every file: Deleted files, multiple changes to that file, every file you ever created. Use this when you are giving away copies. If you change something on drive A, drive B never sees it. Selecting all files from one hard drive and copying them to the other. This is the reason I recommended using two external storage systems earlier. If the main drive fails, we swap and use the mirrored drive until we rebuild a new one. We want our second drive to be the same bit for bit. MirroringĬreating two identical copies that is only updated one way. This is great if you make changes on both drives. If a file or change is detected on drive B, drive A is updated. If a file or change is detected on drive A, drive B is updated. Have I painted a frustration scenario? Which one do I use and when? SyncingĬreating two identical copies that is updated both ways. The software deleted them on the next sync. That worked great until I manually saved files to the mirrored drive. To save space, FULL BACKUP compressed my files and the only way I could see them was with the software that was provided. I looked at my new backup drive and couldn’t read it. OK, so I fix that by selecting FULL BACKUP. I chose to use file syncing as my backup format. That’s what I thought until I deleted a file on my main hard drive and couldn’t find it on my “BACKUP” drive. The process of backing up refers to the copying and archiving of computer data so it may be used to restore the original after a data loss event. In order for the 3-2-1 Backup to be foolproof, you actually have to follow the simple steps correctly to build a “set it and forget it” backup. So, if it’s foolproof, why are so many frustrated people (I was one of them) calling recovery companies to ask them, no begging them, to retrieve their precious files? The 3-2-1 Backup concept has been around for years and is foolproof (a big advocate worth checking out is Peter Krogh). We need a bulletproof backup plan, hardware that is safe, simple and expandable, and last, easy configurable software to manage it all. How much would I lose if I lost everything on my hard drive? You get my point. If you’re a professional photographer - someone who sold a print or charged for service - this question gets easier. It’s hard to put a price tag on years of memories you captured in photos or the hours of video you took that still brings a smile to your face. 5/31/2023 0 Comments Carrion xboxI hate to admit it, but I actually had to google a walkthrough at one point only to figure out I had “beaten” the game ages ago and merely needed to find an exit. Exploring new areas and slip-sliming your way through caves, hallways, and underwater caverns is fun, but at some point you’ll find yourself unsure of where to go, or what you’ve already explored and what still needs to be done. Chiefly, the lack of a map or any real kind of indication towards progression or direction. It is what it is.Īs cool as the game’s concept is, and as well as it controls, there are definitely a few glaring issues that make the title a tad frustrating. Unfortunately, many of the environments begin to feel a little same-y by the end of the game, but given the game’s setting this isn’t much of an issue. The game’s visuals are simple, pixellated 2D but are doused in vibrant colours and neat little details. Using a joystick for this isn’t the most intuitive, but the developers made it work quite well. While the powers leave much to be desired as far as usefulness and variety goes, the simple act of using your tentacles to grab and consume terrified humans is both satisfying and tight. In any game that requires constant movement back and forth, enjoyable traversal and fluid controls are a must, and in this category Carrion kills it. The “thwip” and “squish” noises are fantastically sinister and unsettling and will stay with you long after playing. The player’s character is a mass of flesh, mouths, and tentacles, and it uses these tentacles like Tarzan’s vines to whip through the levels on both axes. The game controls extremely well, even on a console, and traversal throughout the levels feels (and sounds) awesome. Of course this means sacrificing offensive powers and defensive strengths in order to progress, but it’s a neat twist on a well-tread genre that helps Carrion stand apart in a crowded genre. The levels have special areas that allow you to “de-evolve” in order to regain necessary abilities, and then you can go back and consume your bits and pieces left behind in order to become large and in-charge again. There are three different stages of monster, each with different powers. While this is all stock-stand Metroid-vania gameplay, what Carrion does differently is locking certain powers to certain evolutions of your monster. As you progress through the levels, you’ll find various upgrades that allow you to manipulate and remove various barriers blocking your way, unlocking new levels and more hapless scientists to feed on. Your lil’ monster begins as a wee fella who escapes from a containment facility and must make its way through a labyrinthine set of tunnels to make it outside to the city and more delicious humans. Carrion – Review Screenshot Provided by Devolver DigitalĬarrion is a Metroid-vania style game, which means it’s 2D, involves exploring a vast map with plenty of backtracking, and provides you with handy powerups that allow you to engage in combat more efficiently and unlock previously inaccessible areas. 5/30/2023 0 Comments Mom hid my game 2 day 25All he is saying is that his mommy has hidden his ramen again, and he has to locate it at every cost. Our character in this hidden puzzle game online is now screaming for his ramen. Could someone deny a hot bowl of ramen noodles coming directly from the cooking pot? Of course not! But sadly, the mom hid our favorite ramen in this hidden puzzle game 2, and we are not getting it at all. If someone would ask us about the tastiest dish in the world, we would readily say it's ramen. Play Hidden my ramen by mom 2 free at crazy games online If you’re like Fiddy however, with a lot livin’ to do before you die and got no time to waste, maybe pass on this.Try Hidden my ramen by mom 2 game and help us find our ramen noodles hidden by the mom in this hidden puzzle game. But, if you’ve got five dollars to spend and you’re specifically looking for a charming puzzle-based escape game for your Switch or 3DS that clocks in a little over an hour, this might be for you. Mom Hid My Game! is a tough sell, especially when its mobile counterparts are arguably a better experience (and free, no less). This version is the equivalent of a joke becoming so popular that it appears on Facebook with an obnoxious letterbox and text explaining it to you. So, when this version is actually legible, it just feels off to me. Oddly enough, I also miss the terrible English translations from the mobile games - it felt like it was part of the charm. There are a few notable levels and standout puzzle solutions (like a certain level featuring the Predator of all things) that didn’t make the cut from the mobile games. If I really do have any hard-hitting “criticism” to give, it’s that this version of the game feels tame in comparison to its original mobile counterparts. If you’re going to play this, I recommend playing in handheld mode with the touch screen controls, as using the analog sticks while the Switch is docked just feels clumsy. The humor in some of the puzzle solutions is fantastic and the sole reason anyone should even play this - since as I mentioned already - the gameplay here isn’t exactly noteworthy. Everywhere from simply using a broom to get your “game” out from under a couch, to pressing a button combination that performs a hadoken on your grandfather, or avoiding your grandfather in a luchador mask in a match-two mini-game. The developers of these games have made humor their hill to die on, because the gameplay or visuals here certainly won’t impress you, but the humor will take you places - places you wouldn’t expect to go in a cheap budget title. Imagine if you took the puzzle mini-games in the WarioWare series, cut the budget of those in half, then threw in a very distinct Japanese sense of humor, a looping single-song soundtrack (that somehow doesn’t give you an aneurysm), and you have Mom Hid My Game! Mom Hid My Game! describes itself as a puzzle-based escape game, but, I think it’s more of a parody of the genre than an actual serious attempt at it. in the form of Hidden my game by mom 1 and 2 for mobile devices (yes, this is how they were titled, yes, you should go play them - they’re free and I can’t recommend hap Inc.’s library of mobile schlock enough), Kemco gives us a culmination and sort of greatest hits from those two games with Mom Hid My Game! Originally developed and self-published by hap Inc. Mom Hid My Game! isn’t simply a game, it’s a life lesson we should all take into consideration while playing it.
